As we continue to use fossil fuels for our energy needs, we come face to face with the consequences of the pollution generated and the damage it’s doing to the environment. Auto manufacturers have started to produce environmentally friendly cars to try cut back on the damaging consequences of fuel emissions.
An automobile that runs on battery might might be the vehicle that is best for the environment. As the battery is the main source of power, the vehicle doesn’t require any of the regular car gasoline. So this is good for the environment and will result in cash savings but there is a problem to think about. Despite the fact that they are available to the public today, due to being a recent development, the car engines have restrictions. The battery charge will keep the car running for more or less 100 miles, so you won’t go too far without needing to be recharged.
Still one choice available is a hybrid vehicle. An environmentally friendly hybrid runs on battery and gasoline. You could be asking yourself, ‘How is that possible?’ Well, let me tell you. In the beginning, the hybrid car draws power from the battery. As the vehicle requires more power and reaches a certain speed, this is when it starts using petrol. One benefit is the automatic battery charging as a result of the consumption of petrol, so you will not have to do this manually.
One more choice is a vehicle referred to as a plug-in hybrid. The manner in which they work has a lot in common with the other type of hybrid vehicles and they don’t pose a danger to the environment. The plug-in hybrid does, however, have to be manually recharged whereas this is an automatic function of the regular hybrid vehicle. Both types of hybrids are more cost-efficient than the normal petrol vehicles, however.
The Prius is a hybrid vehicle developed by Toyota and has been tested to go 50 miles a gallon. It costs more or less $22,000 and is nowadays one of the market leaders. Honda was as a matter of fact the first to enter the market for hybrid cars with a hybrid named Insight and Toyota followed suit. The Insight introduced customers to the hybrid car even if it wasn’t welcomed in the same manner as the Prius by Toyota. Mitsubishi’s i-MiEV is thought to possess an emission level of zero. When it comes to Japanese auto manufacturers, it was one of the earliest electric cars created.
