As long as some people like Windows OS and others like Mac OS, the debate will never be settled. That’s because both operating systems have their benefits, and some people will always prefer one over the other. Aside from price, the main advantage of Windows is that it gives you more choices and the ability to customize. For Macs, there is only one company to deal with: Apple. PC computers, on the other hand, are manufactured by all sorts of companies from the huge and easily recognizable to the small and rarely seen.
The biggest advantage of this is that you can build your PC one piece at a time if doing that is something that you really want to do. For example, it’s possible to go online and both save money and make sure that you get exactly what you are after. Macs come with plenty of their own benefits, but buying one pretty much commits you to whatever is in the box.
School computers and work computers typically run on the Windows operating system. If this is true for you, then selecting a Windows based computer for your home computer is the smart thing to do and the more convenient thing to do because you can be sure that you have all of the same programs downloaded. For instance, sharing files with PC users is quite a lot more difficult when you use a Mac. These days it is incredibly easy to switch back and forth between Windows and Mac based PCs because there is more compatibility between software than there has ever been and also because Mac users have the option of employing Bootcamp to help their computers run like Windows based PCs. Of course, if the majority of what you work with are Windows based programs, choosing a Mac probably isn’t a productive idea. Even though Macs are more popular now than they have ever been in history most businesses (big and small), schools and major organizations use the Windows OS.
